Acne dispelling the myths
Most medical conditions are clouded in old myths. Acne is no different; myths have surrounded this condition and its treatments for years. With so much information available in books and on the internet, what on earth are you supposed to pay attention to, and which treatment do you follow to correctly treat acne. Well, I hope I can clear up some of these unhelpful myths. Myth: acne is caused by dirt… No, no, acne is not caused by dirt. Your skin has its own cleansing process, by shedding dead cells and then producing its own oils which hydrate and nourish the skin, this process happens naturally. Having said that, it is when this process breaks down that pores can become blocked and the acne cycle could begin. So for me rather than trying to avoid dirt, avoid over washing or over cleansing the skin as all that this will do is deplete your skin of its natural oils. If your skin then becomes depleted of natural oils what will happen is your skin will then over compensate thereby creating more oil which can lead to clogging of the pores.
